Cleaning Liquids & Gels

Before use: Refer to Method Statements, inc MSDS for safety advice. Avoid all contact with skin and follow PPE advice in HSDS. When diluting, add product to the water not water to product.

Application: Normally brush applied to a thickness approx 0.3-0.5kg m² for cleaning (1/3 – ½ mm thickness and up to 1kg m² (1mm) for calcified lime etc.

Cleaning: During application, go back over the area within 1-2 minutes, scrub over the work area with an appropriate brush in a firm swirling action, to observe if soiling is being mobilised. Check periodically until the amount of soiling is 'on the move' appropriate to the degree of clean required. With light, sooty soiling this may be as little as 4-5 minutes. If water affected or more deeply stained, this may take up to 1-2 hours and then require a second application but still best to check periodically i.e at 2-4 minutes, 8 Minutes, 15 minutes, 45 minutes, 1½ hours. Cooler temperatures will slow the reaction, but use of a heat source will dry the gel too quickly. Allow to naturally dry. After dwell (can be upto 2hrs), remove thoroughly with a sponge and warm water. For fine or detail work, use of a dry steam unit and sponge may be useful to ensure that gel and residue are mobilised and removed from crevices. Greatest caution should be taken with polished surfaces such as Marble, to not allow an excessive dwell. Where wax has been used, this will require vigorous brushing, with a fairly stiff bristle (not wire) brush. Calcified Lime Removal: Similar initial precautions but will normally require full dwell time (perhaps 3 hours, if not already dried) and then repeat application. Once deposit is starting to soften up, use of a fine bronze wire brush or similar may prove useful. Remove with sponge and water.

Application: Pre-wet porous surfaces with water before use. Commencing at the uppermost level, apply with brush or by flow application. Agitate regularly with a brush to ensure reaction and top up as necessary. Rinse thoroughly with a hot water pressure washer - Do not allow to dry without rinsing.

Precautions: Product produces a choking and corrosive fume. Use only in a well ventilated area. Wear suitable mask, gloves and eye protection when opening, dispensing and using product. Protect metal and plastic surfaces from contact. Secure product when unattended.

Dwell time in the range 5 minutes for light soot to 2 hours (including topping-up application) for ingrained staining. Check process regularly by 'swirling' the surface with a paint brush i.e. 24minutes, 8 minutes, 15 minutes, 45 minutes
